With the Fortnite Battle Royale continuing with its successful momentum, it’s time to showcase as many previously released, rare, and stylish skins from your locker collection as possible. That’s why we put together our picks for the top 10 best OG Fortnite skins to use. Be excited if you have any of these, and if you don’t, make sure to get some V-Bucks and grab these if you ever see them.
Best OG Fortnite Skins to Use
If you’re practicing to become a better Fortnite player, you might want to change your username to be as unique or sweaty as possible. Players will see your skin, but they’ll remember your name after you eliminate them, and once you have a catchy name, it’s time to get and use these OG Fortnite skins.
Aerial Assault Trooper
Part of the original skins, Aerial Assault Trooper is an OG as far as being at the beginning of the game’s inception. It wasn’t easy to get, or cheap either for that matter, since you not only had to reach level 15 in season 1, but you also had to be willing to spend 1,200 V-Bucks after you reached that level. Talk about jumping through hoops. In retrospect, that seems like a bit much especially since Fortnite was new and nobody had any idea how popular it would become.
The skin has a clean military look to it, which is the direction Fortnite started in before adding all sorts of genre elements from everywhere, but it also helps broaden the game’s diversity which is a very important factor. Play with this skin and you’ll definitely demand respect for being a player from the very start and putting in the work.
Sparkle Specialist
From the season 2 battle pass, Sparkle Specialist is a forgotten skin in the sea of overused female skins. She has a nice balance between being understated and flashy; the colors are appealing without being too loud, in case you’re not normally someone who enjoys super colorful skins. This still has an attractive pop and the girl model is still distinctive even though it’s been reused in more skins lately.
Calamity
This legendary skin hails from the season 6 battle pass and has an incredible transformation and an attractive base mode that’s inspired by western cowboy (or in this case cowgirl) themes. In base mode, Calamity’s pink-tinted hair and brown skin are a perfect match, along with a simple rugged outfit that fits right in with what an urban cowgirl might wear in the 2000s.
She’s tier 1, which means anyone who played at this time would’ve unlocked it, so there’s a good chance many players will be able to use this skin after realizing it has been tucked away in their lockers for a long time.
Zenith
Zenith is a legendary skin that has the option to switch between different stages ranging from mask to no mask and white tactical suit to a fully layered arctic coat. Without his mask, Zenith looks great on his own with that sleek outfit. With a fully donned suit and mask, Zenith has a sci-fi look with a sleek design in arctic white, but you can choose from a total of four different colors.
Just like Calamity, Zenith is a tier 1 skin and probably the best one from his season 7 battle pass, and being one season newer than Calamity’s, there’s an even better chance more players might have this skin.
Lynx
Lynx is another legendary skin from season 7 and she sits comfortably as the other tier 1 skin alongside Zenith. What really makes Lynx stand out is how she has a unique style that you don’t see very often; she has the kawaii anime-style outfit mixed with hints of a more serious goth girl who’s generally the antithesis of what it means to be cute and adorable.
Black Knight
Black Knight is part of the Fort Knights set and was an instant favorite among fans, most likely because it has a dark, mean look that’s mysterious and intimidating. To unlock this from the battle pass, you needed to reach at least level 70, and since this skin came out during one of Fortnite’s earliest battle passes, that means fewer people were playing the game and fewer people advanced far enough in the battle pass. Legend has it that this skin has been retired forever, so if you have it, use it proudly, and if you ever see someone wearing it, give them respect (and then you can eliminate them).
Omega
First available as the Tier 100 reward from the Chapter 1 Season 4 battle pass, Omega is historically the first skin that advances in order for you to unlock the entire skin and its features, like accented lighting effects. In addition to reaching Tier 100 in the battle pass, you needed to also increase your season level to at least 80 making this skin worth the hard work.
Royal Bomber
The Royal Bomber was a Playstation 4 bundle exclusive back in 2018 that has a super clean look with military apparel and an attractive blue leather bomber jacket. Against the meta, Kyle Giersdorf used this skin during the 2019 Fortnite World Cup instantly making it even more popular. If you’re able to get your hands on this skin, it’ll truly stand out as a part of Fortnite history and will make your character look darn good too.
Double Helix
Another console exclusive, this time Double Helix was the skin you can get from the Nintendo Switch Fortnite bundle which originally came out in 2018. This skin has a more sci-fi techwear style which makes it a tad bit better looking than Royal Bomber, but it all comes down to personal preference. What can’t be denied is how rare and expensive this skin is because Nintendo fans are always looking to collect rare Nintendo consoles which make the cost of this continue to rise year after year.
Hybrid
When Fortnite skins started branching off into various themes and genres, this skin showed innovation by combining a dangerous-looking ninja assassin skin with a hybrid RPG-like dragon, making this an awesome skin that has a bunch of customization options. It didn’t take too long to unlock it as a Tier 1 reward from the season 8 battle pass, but that’s a good thing since it was arguably the best skin of the season. Not to mention, how can you argue with the fact that this is basically a two-in-one skin, and who doesn’t like ninjas and dragons?
Now that you’ve seen some of the best OG Fortnite Skins to use, make sure to have your V-Bucks saved up for the moment these appear in the shop. Since Fortnite’s model is currently based on a battle pass, it’s important to know the history of all of Fortnite’s past seasons. Between seasons, you might want to try your hand at some live-action or LARP style play with Fortnite’s line of NERF blasters. When donning any of these skins, you’ll stand out in any game mode and have instant respect from players who realize the history and appeal of the skins listed here.
