Pokemon Sun and Moon: Where to Find Abra

Abra – Pokemon Sun and Moon

Pokemon Sun and Moon might introduce a ton of new Pokemon for trainers to go out and catch, but it also brings it back old school with some original ones, too. Abra, the cute psychic that loves to run from a fight, is one such Pokemon.

The first place where you have a chance of finding an Abra is fairly early on in the game. While in Melemele Island, in Hau’oli City, check the grass patches around the city. Right after triggering the cutscene where two pedestrians are talking about the gang plaguing town, you should be able run down the fence and come across a red gate you can open. This leads to a small patch of grass area, behind a building.

Run around here and you should find the Abra. Catching it is, as usual, difficult thanks to its teleport. Keep this in mind. Be quick and maybe even settle for using a better Poke Ball than just the regular one, like a Quick, Great, or Net. This is really the soonest area to get yourself an Abra.

You’ll also come across Magnemites, Meowths, and Wingulls. These are much more common in other areas, as well, though.

A Bit More on Abra

This adorable little psychic has been around since Generation I with Red and Blue. Its always been a fan favorite as it has a trio of awesome evolutions, and not to mention a whole lot of power. Whenever you encounter one, though, you need to be fast, because you might not be able to catch it before it teleports away! The Quick and Net balls that later came about for the series definitely help with this endeavor. Abra’s final evolution, Alakazam, has a very unique way of evolving, as it can only be attained by trading it with someone. Here’s hoping they don’t run away with it afterwards!
