Marianne’s trip to the Niwa complex features plenty of cinematic cutscenes and conversations with various spirits as she tries to uncover exactly what dark secrets this spooky place is hiding. But if you’ve already played through the game, or you’ve died and your last checkpoint is before a bunch of cutscenes, having to rewatch them can get a little tiring. In this guide, we’ll talk you through how to skip cutscenes and dialog in The Medium so you can get right back into the action.
How to Skip Cutscenes in The Medium
To skip cutscenes in The Medium, simply press and hold the B button on your Xbox One controller. This will cause a little icon to appear in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. It will fill up the longer you hold down B, and once it’s completely filled, the cutscene will be skipped and you’ll be put right back into the midst of the action.
You’ll also use the B button to skip dialog. Each press of the button during a conversation will skip one line of dialog, which can be particularly handy if you accidentally interact with a Memory Shard or an Echo for a second time, causing the dialog to start all over again.
Once you’ve reached the ending of The Medium, you’ll also be able to press and hold any button on your controller to skip through the credits, should you not want to sit through them. That being said, make sure you don’t skip through the post-credits cutscene, which has a few secrets of its own.
That’s everything you need to know regarding skipping cutscenes and dialog in The Medium. For more tips, tricks, and guides, be sure to search for Twinfinite, or check out more of our coverage on the game below.
