The Incursions update for The Division has brought with it a whole host of new features. Players will already be trying out the Falcon’s Lost Incursion, hunting down some High-End loot drops, and completing the Daily and Weekly Assignments.
While some of these will test your skills and keep you interested and playing the game, others such as Dark Zone Supply Drops will allow you to get your hands on some pretty sweet loot. Here’s what these Dark Zone drops are and how best to ensure you get some.
What Are Dark Zone Supply Drops?
Dark Zone Supply Drops are a global event where air drops of multiple supply caches are dropped into the Dark Zone to assist Division agents. The supply drops will occur multiple times over the course of the day and will contain non-contaminated gear. This means you won’t have to extract the loot inside and can using it straight away.
One thing to take note of, however, is just how sought after these Dark Zone Supply Drops will be. Each drop will have valuable gear, weapons, keys, and more. So not only will you have to take down the powerful enemy AI guarding the loot, but you’ll also have to fend off other players after the loot for themselves. That means you’re going to need a solid tactic if you’re going to be the ones walking away with it all. Let us give you some tips.
Stay Vigilant
Dark Zone Supply Drops will require you to be at the very top of your game. Not only will the drop be heavily guarded by AI, but other Agents will be making their way in to try and claim the loot as their own. Therefore, you’re going to need to make sure you always stay vigilant.
If you think you’ve cleared out all of the enemy AI and there are no other players in sight, check again. Maybe even equip the Pulse Skill so that you can make sure nobody is tucked away in hiding waiting for you to make the first move. Always be cautious of your surroundings and never hang around for too long.
Be Well-Prepared
When it comes to loot in The Division nobody is your friend. That group of seemingly friendly Agents wandering around the Dark Zone would be more than happy to drop a few hundred bullets into you if they knew you were carrying a High-End weapon. The only thing that stops most people from doing this is the worry that they might get their ass handed to them and lose their own loot. However, with Dark Zone Supply Drops, only one group of agents can claim it as their own and everyone will come in with nothing to lose.
With this in mind, you need to go in fully prepared. Walking around in the Dark Zone is dangerous enough, but with these drops forcing conflicts among players, you’re going to need to be rocking some seriously powerful gear in order to survive the huge firefight which is sure to begin. Make sure you’ve been collecting those Phoenix Credits, tackling some of the named enemies in the Dark Zone, and completing some missions on Challenge Mode. If you’re not rocking the very best High-End gear, chances are someone else is.
Always Roll in a Group
Playing The Division in a group is the best way to enjoy it. Sure, you can play on your own, but it’s never quite the same compared to when you know your buddy has got your back. It also makes the Dark Zone a much less frightening place and these Supply Drops a lot easier to get. Grab some friends, join a group, and prepare to take on whatever the Dark Zone and the rest of the players in there throw at you.
Communication is crucial when coming up to a Dark Zone Supply Drop and you’ll need to work as a team in order to ensure that you subdue any threats that crop up. Whether you’re playing with good friends, or have built up a team of Agents while playing in the Dark Zone, make sure you’re all talking and have builds that compliment one another for an effective loot grab.
