HOW TO INCREASE SLOTS IN SPLATOON 2

Recommended Videos

Tinkering with your gear loadout and each piece’s associated abilities is a huge part of Splatoon 2 and is key to success in online play. As such, you’ve probably been wondering exactly how you can increase slots and change and reroll abilities on your loadouts.

To change the abilities connected to your gear you need to visit Murch, the one-eyed creature with a sea-urchin hat that is sat to the right-hand side of the main online play entrance. Murch will allow you to collect orders you made from the Nintendo Switch Online mobile app, check the status of an order made in-game, or change abilities connected to a piece of gear. You can also scrub ability slots to make room for different ones (keep in mind that this will cost you 20,000 coins each time you do it) or use any ability chunks you have collected.

He will also let you increase the number of ability slots a piece of gear has, or reroll entirely to replace existing abilities with new ones. However, you are not able to do this until you are a higher level, suggested to be level 20. Once you are a high enough level, you will be able to ask Murch to add new ability slots or reroll the abilities to get new ones by selecting the second option on his menu. As you level up, return to Murch to check out what new abilities you can add and continue to customize your gear.
