Is There Splitscreen Co-op in Splatoon 2?
The meat of Splatoon 2 lies in its online multiplayer modes. However, if you want to enjoy those same online game modes in a local setting, you can do so as well. Unfortunately, the only way you can do this is through LAN play, which requires you and your friends to each have your own Switch system.
By going to the Shoal from Inkopolis Square, you can create a private room for local play where people in your surrounding area will be able to join in and engage in a match. If you’re hoping to play the game with friends and family via splitscreen co-op or competitive, there is no way to do so. It’s definitely a shame that there’s no splitscreen functionality in the game but as long as everyone owns a Switch and their separate copies of the game, you’ll still be able to play together in a local setting.

More About Splatoon 2
Splatoon 2 is the follow-up to Splatoon, the inky shooter game released on the Wii U two years ago. Take control of a kid, splat your enemies with ink, and transform into a squid whenever you feel like it.
