How to Disarm Enemies in Spider-Man PS4

Recommended Videos

Most superheroes aren’t concerned with outright killing their enemies (although many of the X-Men do tend to lean in that direction when fighting bad guys), so it’s extremely important that heroes disarm their enemies. Spider-Man is no different in this regard. In fact, in Spider-Man PS4, one of the quickest ways to find our favorite web-slinger with his lights knocked out, or worse, dead, is by failing to disarm an enemy. Many of the goons you’ll find yourself fighting favor the use of a gun so it should be a priority to disarm these guys. It can be easy to forget how to do so in the heat of the moment though, but fear not, we’ve got you covered. Here’s how to disarm enemies in Spider-Man PS4.

First off, let’s talk about disarming enemies carrying melee weapons. The best way to do this is by holding square.

Doing this will uppercut them into the air.

If you try disarming them in a different way, it likely won’t work — they’ll just block your attacks with the weapon you’re trying to get out of their hands. Once you’ve uppercut an enemy into the air, continue attacking them.

For the beginning stages of the game, this is your only method for disarming enemies, but once you progress further into the game, you’ll see that you can upgrade Spider-Man to have more specific disarming abilities.

Specifically, those abilities are “Pistol and Baton Yank” and “Rifle, Shield and Launcher Yank.” Once you’ve unlocked these upgrades, you’ll see that you can hold triangle (instead of uppercutting by holding square) to disarm enemies, namely the ones with guns, which should be your primary concern when in a brawl.
