How to Beat the Collector in Slay the Spire
Slay The Spire blends deck-building with roguelike gameplay, in which players work their way up a spire, defeating ever harder enemies along the way. You’ll run into all sorts of zombies, demons, and spell-casting fiends as you work towards building out your deck according to your preferred play style. But even once you’ve found your groove, there’s one enemy that’s likely to give you a very tough time of it: the Collector.
What makes the Collector particularly tricky is that he summons two minions, and during the battle, he’ll continue to buff and strengthen them. The Collector will also respawn any minions that you’ve picked off.
In our experience, the best strategy is to focus on clearing the minions repeatedly with AOE (whirlwind and cleave work well), which will obviously hit the Collector in the process. Any minions you aren’t able to kill should be hit with a weakening buff to keep them at bay. As long as you can clear one add per turn and hit the Collector with the surplus damage, you’re in a good spot. Importantly, doing this will bait the Collector into spending his turns on re-summoning instead of buffing or attacking. His pattern is to spawn minions on his first turn, then buff them with his second.
Keep in mind that you’re inevitably going to take a bit of damage, so make sure you’re prepared for that.
That should give you a pretty consistent strategy to beating the Collector in Slaw the Spire. For more useful guides on the game, search for Twinfinite.
