How to Get the Reinforced Knife in Shadow of the Tomb Raider

Recommended Videos

Lara’s latest adventure in Shadow of the Tomb Raider is even more dangerous and, for us, exciting than the last few expeditions we’ve been on since the reboot in 2013. This time, players will need to guide the hardened explorer through lush jungles, dangerous puzzles, and through waves of enemies if she’s to save the world from an impending Mayan apocalypse. As such, you’re going to need all the help you can get, and that means upgrading Lara’s weapons and equipment as and when you have the chance. One of the few weapons you can get is the reinforced knife, which comes in particularly handy in Shadow of the Tomb Raider for accessing new areas. Here’s how to get the reinforced knife in the game.

First things first, let’s run you through why the reinforced knife is so darn useful to have. This sharp blade enables you to cut through braided rope (the stuff that blocks certain cavern entrances or secret areas within the game’s regions), granting you access to places you simply cannot get to without it. As such, the reinforced knife is a pretty important piece of kit in Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and one you should make sure you add to Lara’s inventory.

To actually get the reinforced knife, you’ll need to head to the Hidden City. Speak to the female merchant here and you’ll be able to get this knife as an upgrade on your existing tool.

With the reinforced knife in hand in Shadow of the Tomb Raider, you’re free to go and really see all of the secrets the game’s world is hiding away from you. For more tips, tricks, and guides, be sure to check out our wiki guide, that’s constantly expanding.
