How to Change Control Schemes in Shadow of the Colossus PS4

Recommended Videos

Bluepoint Games and Sony have brought a completely remade version of Shadow of the Colossus to PS4, along with a few changes. While the complete graphical overhaul is, of course, the major focus of the remake, a few minor tweaks have also been made to the control scheme. This results in a brand new “modern” control scheme that moves around some of the buttons. Ultimately, it’s not a huge change but might help some players get through the game more easily. Of course, some fans might be wondering if there’s a way to change back to the classic PS2 control scheme. Luckily, the answer to that is yes.

In order to change your control scheme in Shadow of the Colossus, simply hit Options while playing the game and select Settings, or go to Settings from the main menu. After that, navigate down to Controls. Once you select it, you’ll see an image of a DualShock 4 pop up with the word Modern at the top. Now you can use the D-pad or analog stick to cycle between four different control schemes: Modern, Modern Remapped, Classic, and Classic Remapped. It’s in your best interest to play around with each one for a couple minutes to see what you like best. You want the best controls possible while scaling those colossi, after all.
