How to Change Gear in Sea of Thieves

Recommended Videos

Sea of Thieves launches today for Xbox One and Windows 10 PC, where players can band together and take to the high seas for adventure and plunder for lost treasure. In order to be successful, whether alone or with a hearty crew, you’ll need to know how to handle and quickly change gear on the fly.

Gear can involve tools such as a bucket, spyglass, compass, shovel, lantern, and musical instruments. It also involves consumable items like bananas, cannonballs, and wooden planks.

To change what you are holding in Sea of Thieves, press and hold the LB shoulder button to bring up the equipment wheel. While holding the LB button, push the right analog stick in any direction to select what you would like to equip and let go of the shoulder button. Since the wheel can only display eight slots at a time, to correspond with the eight-way analog stick, press the X button to reveal another wheel with a second set of equipment if you have a ton of gear.

That’s pretty much everything you need to know to change gear nice and quickly in Sea of Thieves. Check back with Twinfinite for more Sea of Thieves coverage and our extensive wiki for more guides.
