How to Get Red Dead Redemption 2 ‘It’s Art’ Trophy and Achievement

Spoiler warning: The nature of describing how to complete the ‘It’s Art’ trophy and achievement will force us to mention something that may give away the ending of Red Dead Redemption 2 and its epilogue. We highly suggest waiting to read this guide, until you have at least reached the epilogue. This was your warning to turn back.

Red Dead Redemption 2‘s open world is something that’s easy to get lost in, but hopefully you’re not spending too much time wandering aimlessly that you forget about those trophies and achievements that you need to be hunting.

One such trophy and achievement in Red Dead Redemption 2 that’ll likely require a guide is ‘It’s Art,‘ which tasks you with finding a permanent home for the squirrel statue.

It’s quite an obscure description that doesn’t leave many clues as to how to start or progress towards your goal. Fear not, as this guide will walk you through all of the necessary steps to earn you that trophy or achievement.

First thing to note is that It’s Art is only possible after beating the story of Red Dead Redemption 2. If you haven’t beaten the story yet, go ahead and do that before proceeding with this guide.

The first thing needed is the squirrel statue itself. In order to get this, all five of Ms. Hobbs’ hunting requests have to be completed. This is simple enough to do. The hunting requests can be started as early as chapter 2, but the final one won’t be unlocked until after epilogue part 1.

Hunting requests can be found on posters inside train stations in Valentine, Saint Denis, Rhodes, Van Horn, Strawberry, and Armadillo. They are located on a wall in the post office. Once obtained, the hunting request can be viewed in the documents menu.

Head out and grab the carcasses of the requested animals. Make sure they’re in perfect condition, then take it back to a post office and mail it to Ms. Hobbs.

You’ll be asked to bring back the following:

  • Hunt Request #1
    • Perfect Rabbit Carcass
    • Perfect Squirrel Carcass
  • Hunt Request #2
    • Perfect Cardinal Carcass
    • Perfect Rat Carcass
    • Perfect Woodpecker Carcass
  • Hunt Request #3
    • Perfect Chipmunk Carcass
    • Perfect Opossum Carcass
    • Perfect Oriole Carcass
    • Perfect Robin Carcass
  • Hunt Request #4
    • Perfect Songbird Carcass
    • Perfect Sparrow Carcass
    • Perfect Toad Carcass
    • Perfect Skunk Carcass
    • Perfect Bullfrog Carcass
  • Hunt Request #5
    • Perfect Cedar Waxwing Carcass
    • Perfect Bat Carcass
    • Perfect Blue Jay Carcass
    • Perfect Crow Carcass
    • Perfect Beaver Carcass

Completion of all hunt requests will conclude the “A Better World, A New Friend” mission, allowing you to move on to the next step.

Ms. Hobbs will have sent you an invite to her hut, which can be found in the top right of Strawberry. Paying her a visit will reward you with the squirrel statue.

Now to find it a permanent home. Travel to your farm Beecher’s Hope near Blackwater, accessible after completing the story. Once there, simply place the statue above the fireplace and your achievement or trophy will pop.
