Pokemon Sword & Shield: How to Get Rotom & All Forms

There are a lot of Pokemon to keep track of in Sword & Shield. One in particular named Rotom operates totally different than every other Pokemon in the game. Here is how to get Rotom & all of its forms in Pokemon Sword and Shield.

How to Get Rotom

Rotom is found in the Wild Area, specifically right past the Lake of Outrage. You’ll need the ability to ride your bike on water, which is obtained about halfway through your gym badge progression.

After that, there will be some patches of grass near the circular Stonehenge looking structures. Rotom is tiny, but you’ll see it pop up in the patches of grass nearby.

It moves lightning-quick and zips around similar to the Golden Snitch from Harry Potter.

How to Get All Forms

Even though you can get Rotom relatively early you won’t be able to get its other forms until you reach the final town called Wyndon.

If you’re approaching the Stadium in Wyndon from the south you’ll notice a row of identical-looking houses on your left side. The second to last house will contain a trainer to fight.

After fighting them they will give you the rotom catalog which will allow your Rotom to take on different forms. The forms are listed below:

  • Light Bulb
  • Microwave
  • Washing Machine
  • Refrigerator
  • Electric Fan
  • Lawn Mower

Just open up the Rotom catalog in your key items pouch and you can change Rotom into any of those household items.
