Pokemon Quest: How to Get Pikachu

Getting Pikachu in Pokemon Quest

Recommended Videos

Pikachu is basically the face of the Pokemon franchise, so it was no surprise to see that the yellow mouse would be making an appearance in Pokemon Quest, the new free-to-play game on Switch. If you’re wondering how to get this Pokemon in your party, we’ve got you covered.

First off, Pikachu is available as a starter choice at the very beginning of the game, along with other creatures like Bulbasaur and Squirtle. If you want it in your party immediately, simply select it when you’re given control. However, if you picked another starter Pokemon, things get a little trickier. At the moment, the only way to befriend more Pokemon and add them to your team is through cooking. Since the Pokemon that show up at your camp from cooking seems to depend on the color of the meal, it’s very likely that you can get Pikachu to show up by simply cooking meals that make use of yellow-colored ingredients. Each time you finish a meal, go back to base camp and see which Pokemon turn up there.

This isn’t a guaranteed way of getting Pikachu though, so we recommend picking it as a starter if you really want it on your team.
