The 2019 Halloween event in Pokemon GO is in full swing and that means a certain spooky special research is returning. Here is how you can get access to ‘A Spooky Message’ in Pokemon GO.
How to Get A Spooky Message in Pokemon GO
This special research quest is only available during the time of the Halloween event, so you’ll need to act quickly to get it. That also means you’ll need to complete it before the event ends on Nov. 1.
Just like past special research, you get tons of useful items and experience along the way to the final prize which is typically an exceptionally rare Pokemon that you can’t get anywhere else.
Some rewards are a bit different this year since there are new Ghost-type creatures available. In the end, you’ll still be getting the Forbidden Pokemon, Spiritomb.
To start ‘A Spooky Message,’ all you need to do is launch the game, then tap on the icon of Professor Willow in the lower right part of the screen. This will start a cutscene where Willow gives you some backstory on the quest.
Once the professor finishes up talking about the mysterious message he received, then you’ll be able to go out and start ‘A Spooky Message.’
If you started the 2018 version of the special research, but you didn’t finish it last year, then you’ll be able to continue where you left off. That means you could possibly get two Spiritombs this year.
This also means that if you fail to complete the 2019 quest before Nov. 1 that you’ll get a second chance next October. In the end, just trying to complete it this year would be the best practice.
Time needed: 5 minutes
