Persona 5 Strikers, How to Unlock New Game Plus Mode

Persona 5 Strikers: How to Unlock New Game Plus

Persona 5 Strikers is far from a short gaming experience, but if you’re like most fans, you’ll probably be eager to dive into a new run via New Game Plus, with all of your abilities in tact, as soon as the credits roll. This won’t be possible until you jump through a few less than obvious hoops though, so we’re here to help with a guide on how to unlock New Game Plus mode in Persona 5 Strikers.

To start, you won’t be able to unlock New Game Plus mode in Persona 5 Strikers until you complete the post game content.

This content can be unlocked after you defeat the final boss, load up your cleared game save and then speak to Lavenza in the Velvet Room. She will then inform you of a sinister figure you must defeat, and will lay out new Requests for you to complete to prove you’re capable of defeating this figure.

The Requests she’ll add are more difficult versions of each of the game’s bosses that you’ll need to battle. Once accepted, they’ll appear just outside of the boss arenas in each Jail as green points of interest you can examine.

It’s worth noting, however, that these requests may not become available if you haven’t completed the standard boss rematch Requests offered earlier on in the game. As such, if you haven’t completed all of the rematches before completing the game, go back and finish them off to make sure the post game content is accessible.

How to Unlock New Game Plus Mode in Persona 5 Strikers

Once you’ve completed all of the post game requests in Persona 5 Strikers, you’ll then be able to take on the sinister figure Lavenza hinted at: The Reaper, Persona’s recurring secret boss.

How to Beat the Reaper

Located in the final room of the Okinawa jail, he is the game’s most difficult challenge to overcome. He has no outright weaknesses, hits like a truck, and can wipe out even a max-levelled party if you’re not careful.

As such, you’ll want to make the proper preparations before taking him on. Specifically, you’ll want to grind all of your characters up to at least level 75; head into the boss fight with as many restoratives as possible; and deck out all of your characters with the best weapons and armor possible.

Once you’ve done these things, head into the secret boss fight and stay as close to the Reaper as possible. Unload on him with combos and Persona attacks whenever possible, and dodge around him in circles when he starts to charge up his magic attacks. Most of them are AOE, so you’ll want to keep a bit of distance while doing so.

It’ll be a long, hard battle, so take your time and be patient. Once you defeat him, head back to the Velvet Room and Lavenza will reward you with the Spiral Bookmark, unlocking New Game Plus mode.
