If you want to have any hope of taking on all of the demons Onimusha Warlords Remastered has to offer, you’ll need the matchlock gun in your arsenal. To that end, we’re here with a guide to help you figure out how to get the gun in Onimusha Warlords Remastered.

The second of two ranged weapons players can get their hands on in Onimusha: Warlords, the gun is ideal for ripping through enemies large and small with ease.

It only becomes more useful once it has been upgraded, launching bursts bullets that can keep even massive waves of enemy forces at bay.

To get the gun, players will need to have upgraded the red and blue orbs to level three, as well as reached the headless statue in the West Area.

This is found during the portion of the game where they must open the door to the demon realm, and occurs after the cutscene where the false servant kidnaps Yumemaru.

The statue’s missing head is needed to access a hidden room with the gun inside. To find the head, go to the area where you played as Kaede, found through the green-grey doors to the left of the central courtyard.

The enemies will have respawned, so kill or avoid them to advance to the door with a third level blue seal. Don’t open it just yet, and instead head toward the double doors at the end of the path.

These will lead to the area with barricades and archers. Make your way toward the ladder to the top left, then kill or avoid the enemies to head down the ladder leading to the room with the blue orb fountain.

Once there, you’ll find a door with a level three red seal over it. Break the seal and head through to enter the next area, then head along the path toward a group of enemies and another door.

Once you go through it, you’ll be met by several axe-wielding enemies. Defeat them all and then you’ll be able to open two chests, one of which contains the statue’s missing head.

Once you have this, return to the room with the three blue seals and return the head to the statue. This will open a gate to the left side of the room, and past it lies a chest containing the matchlock gun.

Hopefully this helps you figure out how to get the gun in Onimusha Warlords Remastered. The game is currently available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.

TLDR;

Question: How do you get the gun in Onimusha Warlords Remastered?

Answer: Upgrade the red and blue orbs to level three, and you need to have reached the headless statue in the West Area. Head to the double doors at the end of the path, and head down the ladder to the fountain. Break the level three red seal and follow the path to the next door. Defeat the enemies to open the chests and get the statue’s head. Put the head back on the statue, and go through the gate it unlocks. This leads you to a chest with the gun.
