How to Pause – Nioh

Recommended Videos

As you embark on your quest across feudal Japan, you’re going to come across some pretty tough humans and demons standing in your way. These enemies are no pushovers, either, so there’s a good possibility that areas may take you a little longer than you expected. When this point comes, you’ll want to pause Nioh. Well, about that.

Nioh doesn’t actually allow you to pause the game. Pressing the touchpad to bring up your inventory and other menus simply brings them up in front of the action. Enemies will still make their way towards you, and dispatch you quickly if you’re standing idle.

Unfortunately, if you want a break from all of the chaos, you’re going to need to make your way to a shrine. Here, you won’t be bothered by enemies, and you can save your progress completely so you can turn off your console.

Shrines aren’t too rare, though, so it shouldn’t take you too long to track back to one you just passed or press on ahead to the next.

It may not be the same as being able to pause mid-action, but a rest from the monsters that await you is more than welcome. For more tips, tricks, and information on Nioh, be sure to check out our ever-expanding wiki guide.
