Equipping magic and abilities in Nier Replicant is easy once you know where to look and what it requires.

First, open the pause menu by pressing the Options Button on PlayStation 4 or the Menu Button on Xbox One. Then, move the left analogue stick up toward the Magic/Abilities tab. This will bring you to a menu of your currently equipped abilities and which assigned button triggers them. The buttons you can assign as the hotkeys for abilities are L1, L2, R1, and R2 on PlayStation 4; and LB, LT, RB, and RT on Xbox One.

Select whichever button you want to equip a skill to, and a menu will open up that contains all of your available skills and magic attacks. Scroll down to the one you want to equip, and then select it by pressing either the X Button on PS4 or the A Button on Xbox One.
