All Playable Characters in Ni No Kuni 2

Warning: There are minor spoilers ahead that detail the origins of each playable character in Ni No Kuni 2.

Just as in the first game, Ni No Kuni 2’s story details the plight of a young boy in his bid to overthrow evil. But he won’t be doing it alone. As Evan unites the four kingdoms of Ni No Kuni, he’ll meet new friends and forge new alliances along the way, and many of these characters are playable. Right from the off, players are able to control Roland – a stranger from our own world, warped to Ni No Kuni in strange circumstances. Later, more characters join their party, and you’ll be able to play as all of them both as you explore the world and battle its many monsters and bandits.

The full list of playable characters numbers six individuals, and these are as follows:

Evan – The former King of Ding Dong Dell, now the ruler of the new Kingdom of Evermore. He is the game’s main protagonist.

Fighting style: Sword & Wand.

Roland – A former President in his own world, Roland is warped to Ni No Kuni after his nation is attacked. He serves as Evan’s chief counsel and right-hand man.

Fighting Style: Sword & Gun

Tani – A young and fearless sky pirate from Cloudcoil Canyon, she joins Evan’s cause early in the game as he rescues her from pesky Wyverns.

Fighting Style: Lance & Bow

Batu – Also a sky pirate, Batu is a burly and down to earth sort that never backs down from a fight. He wields an enormous hammer in combat and concerns himself with the security of Evermore.

Fighting Style: Hammer & Bow

Leander – The fiercely loyal hand of Hydropolis’ mysterious queen, Leander is as intelligent as he is handy in combat. His awesome skills with a lance are matched only by his command of all things magic.

Fighting Style: Lance & Wand

Bracken – Bracken is a techno-whizz from the nation of Broadleaf. She’s spent her life working toward innovating new technology. In particular, the creation of a fission nuclear reactor that she hopes will change the world for the better.

Fighting Style: Hammer & Gun
