How to Get More Higgledies in Ni No Kuni 2

Fans of the original Ni No Kuni will have been disappointed to discover that the Pokemon-like Familiars won’t be making an appearance in Revenant Kingdom. Don’t worry, though, because they’re replaced by Higgledies in Ni No Kuni 2, and these little critters are both super adorable and lots of fun to use in combat.

Almost immediately, Evan is joined by Higgledies that aid him in combat. Throughout the game, there are dozens of different types to recruit and nurture, each with their own special skills and personality. But where to find more of these squidgy little companions?

There are two ways to get more Higgledies in Ni No Kuni 2. The first you’ll likely encounter early on in the game: the Higgledie Stone. These stones are scattered sporadically throughout the game, and when you see one, make sure you approach it, press X, and hear what it has to say. The Higgledie Stone will tell you of a craving it has for a certain item, and if you’ve got one on you, you can offer it to the Stone. In return, you guessed it, a Higgledie emerges to join your party.

The second way to get more – and the method you’ll be using most frequently – is to cook them at your Higglery. Yep, that’s right, they’re cooked up like food! Except these jelly-like cuties aren’t for eating. As you work your way through Ni No Kuni 2 picking up various materials, these can then be used at the Higglery to cook up new Higgledies. As part of the associated research for the facility, there are lots of different recipes you can learn in order to brew up different Higgledies.

That’s all you’ll need to know to start your own army of Higgledies. For more useful guides on Ni No Kuni 2, be sure to check out our ever-expanding wiki.
