Mortal Kombat 11’s take on the Krypt can be quite overwhelming at times. There’s a ton of chests to open, doors to bash through and gates to open. If you’re here, you’re probably wondering how to get Skeleton Keys and open all of the locked gates around the Krypt in Mortal Kombat 11. Here’s how to do it.

How to Open Lock Gates in the Krypt

All around the Krypt are locked gates that contain even more chests and loot that you’ll want to eventually get your hands on. A lot of the most lucrative items in the game are behind Shao Khan and flame chests, and some of the time, these are further locked behind a gate in the Krypt.

To open these locked gates, you need Skeleton Keys. As the name would imply, these are one size fits all keys that can open and gate in the Krypt.

The problem is although they are one-size fits all, they are limited in use to just one. So when you use one, you’re going to have to go and get another. So with that said, let’s talk about how to get Skeleton Keys.

Getting Skeleton Keys in Mortal Kombat 11

Skeleton Key drops, like most (but not all) of the Krypt is random. You need to just open chests and other loot around the Krypt and kind of just hope that you come across one eventually. When you do, you’ll have the treat of opening a door to find… more chests that you can open.

Keep in mind, while the contents of a chest are randomized, the contents of all of the chests in the entire Krypt is not. In other words, what we mean is that every player, if they keep opening chests, will find enough Skeleton Keys to open all of the locked gates around the Krypt. Just some players are going to get luckier than others and find them faster.

That’s all you need to know about how to get skeleton keys and open gates in the Krypt for Mortal Kombat 11 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
