If you want to brew some cool things in Minecraft, you’re going to rely pretty heavily on fermented spider eyes. For example, they are used to craft the potion of invisibility, and a range of negative brews such as the potions of slowness, harming, and weakness. Here’s everything you need to know about how to get a fermented spider eye in Minecraft. Arachnophobes, look away now.
How to Get a Fermented Spider Eye in Minecraft
First of all, you’re going to need some ingredients. Fermented spider eyes are crafted using one brown mushroom, one sugar, and of course, one spider eye –there’s no vegan alternative yet!
Brown mushrooms can be located naturally in forests and jungles, so it’s not too big of a task to grab this ingredient.
Sugar is a slightly trickier ingredient to obtain, but certainly not too hard. Grab yourself a single sugar cane (these can be found naturally growing near bodies of water) and place it in the center box of a 3×3 crafting grid.
To get a spider eye, well…you’re going to have to slay some spiders until one just pops out. As night falls, you will find an endless amount of these gross creatures crawling around your base, so chop a few up until you get that spider eye drop.
Now that you have everything you need, place them in another 3×3 crafting grid to craft the fermented eye. If you have some water bottles lying around, you can get started on some malicious potion-making straight away!
