Is Metro Exodus Coming to Nintendo Switch?
Metro’s return in 2019 will put a smile on the face of anyone who appreciates great storytelling woven into their shooters, and Exodus promises to round out the trilogy with the most ambitious game yet. But is Metro Exodus Coming to Nintendo Switch?
Sadly, we’ve disappointing news if you were hoping to play the upcoming game on your Nintendo Switch. There are no plans to launch Metro Exodus on the hardware. Speaking in an interview last year, 4A Games said:
“We’re kind of busy on the console platforms right now.”
Although not technically refuting the notion of a Nintendo Switch version in the future, we take that statement to essentially be a polite way of saying that there’s nothing in the pipeline.
Of course, it’s not difficult to see why. If you watched the Metro Exodus trailer reveal at E3 2017 then you’ll have noted the fidelity of the graphics. It was showcased as a flagship Xbox One X Enhanced title, so there’s been no holding back on the performance.
It seems unlikely that the Nintendo Switch, with its much less powerful GPU and CPU would be able to handle even a low-res version of the game.
But never say never; there could be a port of the game made if it proves hugely popular and 4A Games feels there is cause to make one. If Twinfinite hears of any news on a Nintendo Switch version of the game, we’ll be sure to update this post.
That’s all the information we have on whether Metro Exodus is coming to Nintendo Switch. For more tips and guides on the game, be sure to search Twinfinite.
