EA’s annual sports titles are some of the most popular titles in the gaming world. From FIFA’s Ultimate Team lottery system to the release of Madden every August, the sports franchises make a load of money. Since you’re here, you’ll be wondering whether you’ll be able to take the new version of Madden on the go with Nintendo’s hybrid console. Here’s everything you need to know about whether Madden 20 is coming to the Nintendo Switch.
Whether Madden 20 Will Release on Nintendo Switch
As of the time of writing, Madden 20 will not be coming to the Nintendo Switch. It is due to release on Aug. 2 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, but no version has been revealed for the Switch.
Unlike the FIFA series, which has had a version of each new game release on the hybrid console, Madden has never done so and that’s not changing for 2019.
It’s not entirely clear why, but it may be due to how popular the FIFA series is across the world, and in particular how much money the Ultimate Team component makes for EA. It must just make more financial sense to release FIFA 20 on the Switch than it would do to release Madden 20.
However, even FIFA’s future on the console is looking uncertain, with the Switch version of this year’s game due to be just a slightly upgraded version of 19 that’ll be missing many of 20’s new features. If FIFA can flourish on the Switch, it’s unlikely that we’ll ever see Madden make the jump over.
Of course, if that ever changes and Madden 20 is revealed to be coming to Nintendo’s console in the future, we’ll be sure to update you here.
