Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword HD: How to Get Monster Claws

For those of you who are diving into the newly remastered The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD on Nintendo Switch, you’ll probably come across some rare treasure called Monster Claws. Not only are they really useful to upgrade certain items at the Scrap Shop in the Bazaar, but they can also be used to sell for 30 rupees if you’re in a bind and need some extra scratch. (We’d recommend using them primarily as upgrade materials, though, as they’re pretty rare!) So, in this guide, we’ll tell you how to get Monster Claws in Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD. Let’s get to it!

How to Get Monster Claws in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

First things first, a viable farming location for Monster Claws can be found early in Skyward Sword in the Skyview Temple. Specifically, a handful of Keese and Walltula enemies wander the hallways here and have a good chance of dropping the desired material once defeated. If you make your way through the dungeon near the Bird Statue save point, you can teleport Link back to the outside of the dungeon, making this route easily repeatable.

Of course, there are several other enemies that also drop the valuable material you’re looking for. So, here are a few other enemies, as well as the locations you’ll find them:

  • Keese — Skyloft, Waterfall Cave, Faron Woods, Skyview Temple, Lanayru Mining Facility
  • Walltula — Skyview Temple, Faron Woods, Thunderhead
  • Guay — Faron Woods, the Sky
  • Fire Keese –– Eldin Volcano
  • Thunder Keese — Lanayru Desert

For those unaware, Monster Claws can largely be used to upgrade Link’s shields, which will definitely come in handy when you start bumping into the more powerful bosses the game throws at you.
