Combat is a pretty key part of Kingdom Come Deliverance’s gameplay, and emerging victorious comes down to more than just a bit of luck or button mashing. Each strike, parry, and block needs to be thought out so as best to exploit your enemy’s weaknesses. Being able to dodge effectively in Kingdom Come Deliverance will go a long way to saving your bacon in battle, so let’s talk you through it.

Dodging not only allows you to quickly evade an incoming attack, it also allows you to avoid using your stamina by blocking. Although, pulling off a perfect block in the game will also protect you without eating into your stamina. To dodge in Kingdom Come Deliverance, you’ll want to wait for the enemy to strike until the green icon appears on your screen. At this point, tap the left direction stick to swiftly evade the incoming strike in that direction. It’s the same for PC players. Simply tap whichever of the WASD keys that corresponds to the direction you want to dodge in.

Give it a few tries in battle against easier enemies at first to get yourself used to it. Once you start facing more challenging combat scenarios later in the game, knowing how to dodge will be a crucial move in your arsenal.
