How to Get Epic Gear in Injustice 2

Recommended Videos

Injustice 2 switches things up from its predecessor by adding an RPG-like progression system complete with gear which comes in different rarities. You have common, which is better than what you start with but offers minimal stat boosts and usually no perks. Then there’s rare, which is better and has the chance to offer useful buffs and perks. Finally, you’ve got epic which is the best of the best. These pieces have a golden icon and offer the greatest stat boosts as well as useful perks (many times more than one). Some are even parts of sets which grant more bonuses depending on how many set pieces your fighter has equipped. Of course, seeing as how epic gear is the absolute best in Injustice 2, it’s also the rarest.

Epic gear can drop at just about any level, so there’s no level requirement for obtaining any. However, some methods offer guaranteed epics while others offer only a chance.

Bronze, Silver, and Gold Mother Boxes – These are the most common loot boxes you can get and they can even be purchased with Credits. Each of these has a small chance of granting a random epic piece of gear. The chance is higher based on the value, with Gold having the highest and Bronze the lowest.

Platinum and Diamond Mother Boxes – These are much harder to get than the lower versions, requiring that players complete difficult challenges and prove their skill either alone or as part of a Guild. They always have an Epic in them, with Diamond offering three and Platinum giving you at least one.

Story – You’ll get a few bits of epic gear for most of the characters just by completing the story. Since each chapter focuses on specific characters you’ll get something for the ones you use.

Multiverse Objectives – These are tough challenges that require you to complete specific tasks but guarantee some really powerful epic gear.

Luck – You can randomly get this tier of gear just by playing the game.

That’s all you need to know to get epic gear in Injustice 2. For more tips, tricks, and information on the game, be sure to check out our ever-expanding wiki guide.
