Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition on Nintendo Switch lets you take control of beloved characters from across the Zelda series, in Dynasty Warriors-style battles. The Definitive Edition of the game comes packed with all characters featured in the base game, as well as everyone added on with the DLC and Hyrule Warriors Legends on 3DS. This rounds out the roster at 31 characters in total.  Naturally, you’ll want to know how to unlock each and every one, so you can build your own team of your favorites.   1. Link – Unlocked from the beginning
  2. Impa – Unlocked from the beginning.
  3. Sheik – Unlocked from the beginning.
  4. Lana – Unlocked from the beginning.
  5. Linkle – Unlocked from the beginning.
  6. Darunia – Unlocked from the beginning.
  7. Ruto – Unlocked from the beginning.
  8. Midna – Unlocked from the beginning.
  9. Agitha – Unlocked from the beginning.
  10. Zelda – Unlocked from the beginning.
  11. Fi – Unlocked from the beginning.
  12. Ganandorf – Unlocked from the beginning.

Characters Unlocked in Adventure and Legend Mode

*Note: For the Adventure Mode locations the first number refers to the row, while the second refers to the column.

  1. Toon Link – Complete scenario 7-9 of the Adventure Mode map.
  2. Tetra – Complete the mission “The Wind Waker: A New Disturbance” in Legend Mode.
  3. Toon Zelda – Complete scenario 5-11 on the Grand Travels map in Adventure Mode.
  4. King Daphnes – Complete the mission “The Wind Waker: Reclaiming the Darkness” in Legend Mode.
  5. Medli – Complete scenario 2-8 on The Great Sea map in Adventure Mode. You’ll need to first have a Salvage Arm item card, then search and use it on the green circle.
  6. Twili Midna – Complete scenario 1-16 of the Adventure Mode map. First to reveal this tile you need to use the hookshot on the tile underneath, then get an A rank in the battle to reveal the path. After that use digging mits to on Midna’s tile.
  7. Young Link – Complete scenario 2-1 of the Adventure Mode map. Use the compass and then a bomb to blow the wall up.
  8. Tingle – Complete scenario 1-12 of the Adventure Mode map. Use the compass and then ice arrows to put out the fire.
  9. Skull Kid – Complete scenario 3-13 of the Adventure Mode map. Use the compass and then a bomb to blow up the tile.
  10. Marin – Complete the starting scenario on the Koholint Island map in Adventure Mode.
  11. Ravio – Complete scenario 7-5 on the Lorule Map in Adventure Mode.
  12. Yuga – Complete scenario 8-11 on the Lorule Map in Adventure Mode.
  13. Ganon – Complete Ganon’s Fury in Challenge Mode.
  14. Cucco – Complete Ganon’s Fury Survival Stage 3 with an A Rank in Challenge Mode.
