One of the best parts of trekking around Minecraft is seeing and collecting animals. With the new Wild Update, frogs are now officially part of the game. Though, the extent to which you can interact with the frogs is in question. With that, here’s how to tame frogs in Minecraft.
Taming Frogs in Minecraft
To start off, it needs to be clear that you can’t technically tame frogs; at least, you can’t tame frogs in the same way you can a wolf or an ocelot. While holding a Slimeball, you can easily get frogs to follow you. While they won’t necessarily be tamed this way, you can still get a group of them to follow after you.
You can also use a Lead and attach it to a frog to walk them around yourself. This still isn’t quite taming, but you have a frog on a lead/leash now. Leads can be crafted with four strings and one Slimeball.
You can also feed frogs the Slimeballs to get them into breeding mode. They will then head over to the nearest water source to lay frogspawn. You’re looking at about five to 10 minutes for roughly six tadpoles to spawn from one frogspawn block. So even if you can’t tame frogs, you can very well set up your own breeding ground for frogs in an area with water.
Can You Tame Frogs in Minecraft
As said, at this moment you cannot tame frogs in Minecraft. But, if you’re okay with walking around with one, you can craft the lead to hang out with a frog for a bit.
That’s everything you need to know when it comes to how to tame frogs in Minecraft. Happy frog hunting! Be sure to stick around Twinfinite as we continue to bring you new guides for the recent Wild Update.
