The combat in Bayonetta 3 feels a lot more enjoyable and dynamic thanks to Bayonetta’s ability to summon her Infernal Demons at will. These terrifying monsters can perform combos of their own, and may even turn the tides of a battle. Here’s how to summon Demon Slaves in Bayonetta 3.
Summoning Infernal Demon Slaves in Bayonetta 3
To summon your Demon Slaves in Bayonetta 3, all you have to do is press and hold the ZL button.
While holding down ZL, Bayonetta herself will be rooted in place, as the Demon starts wreaking havoc all over the place. You’ll be able to make sure of the Y, X, and A buttons to perform ranged attacks, punches, and kicks with the Demon, but do be warned that Bayonetta will be susceptible to enemy attacks during this time.
To dismiss the Demon, just let go of ZL, and you’ll regain control of Bayonetta immediately.
One important thing to note is that Demons cannot be summoned indefinitely; you can only summon them when you have mana, which is indicated by the purple bar in the bottom left corner of the screen. Mana gets recharged automatically and as you land hits on enemies, and they can also be replenished with Purple Lollipops, which are bought from Rodin’s shop.
Once your mana bar is fully depleted, the Demon will get dismissed automatically.
How to Change Infernal Demons
You’ll gain control of a number of Infernal Demon Slaves over the course of the story in Bayonetta 3, and you can equip up to three of them at once.
To do this, press the – button whenever you’re in a level, and press L or R to tab over to your Infernal Demons. From here, use the d-pad or left stick to select the Demons you want to equip in any of your three slots, then press A to confirm your selection.
While in battle, you can also press left, right, or up on the d-pad to select any of your equipped Demon Slaves, then press and hold ZL to summon them.
