The Early to Rise hairstyle is one that debuted back in the Shadowbringers expansion, as one of the many obtainable rewards in the Level 71 open-area instance, The Bozjan Southern Front. There are actually a handful of different methods for earning the hairdo, some easier than others, and we’ve detailed them all.

First, upon completing the story quests for the area, and then reaching and queueing into the area’s massive dungeon, Delubrum Reginae, there is a rare chance for the Early to Rise hairstyle to appear in one of the chests that spawn as rewards after boss encounters. Thankfully, unlike normal dungeons in the rest of the game, the loot you find in said chests is specific to your character. So you don’t have to worry about competing with several dozen other players for one item.

There’s a particular emphasis on “rare”, however, as some people have done the dungeon numerous times and never seen the hairstyle drop. If you have the unending patience for it, you can simply run through Delubrum Reginae over and over until the RNG gods finally give in.

However, if you’d prefer not to spend countless hours on that method, you can also purchase the hairstyle with Bozja-specific currency that you accrue throughout your adventures in the war-stricken area. The exact amount you need is:

  • 5 x Bozjan Gold Coins
  • 30 x Bozjan Platinum Coins

Once you have those in hand, you can go find the NPC called the Resistance Supplier (X:35.9, Y:34.2) in Zadnor, which is the second unlockable area after Bozjan Southern Front. You’ll find the Early to Rise hairstyle in their inventory, and simply trade the necessary 35 coins to obtain it.

Finally, if none of those options appeals to you, there is the typical alternative of purchasing the hairstyle on the Market Board. At least most hairstyles can be sold and traded to other players, and they can all be found under ‘Registrable Miscellany’ on the Market Board. While it’s not exorbitantly expensive anymore, as of this writing the Early to Rise hairstyle still goes for at least 1 million gil, on average. So you will need to drop a somewhat pretty penny for it, or if you have a friend with some gil to throw around, you can have them get it for you.

Once you have it, open your Inventory and ‘Use’ the consumable voucher that will permanently unlock it for your character. You can then head to your local Aesthetician via a Crystal Bell and try it out. Also, as of this writing, Early to Rise can be worn by every playable race except Hrothgar.

That concludes our guide for how to get the Early to Rise hairstyle in FFXIV. We hope you found this helpful in getting your hands on an exciting new look, and let us know which hairstyle in the game is your favorite.
