Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands offers players the classic Borderlands looter shooter action with a DnD twist. Forgoing the futuristic setting for a fantasy theme, the game sees players choosing their class and embarking on an epic adventure narrated by the iconic Borderlands character through a world teeming with humorous moments and fantastical enemies, not to mention a plethora of loot to get your hands on. In this guide, we’ll be talking you through how to get Skeleton Keys in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, so you can use them to get some of the rarest loot in the game.
What Skeleton Keys Are Used For?
Skeleton Keys are used to open the Skeleton Chest, found at the foot of the statue next to the steps leading to the castle in Brighthoof.
Opening the chest will reward you with rare and powerful loot, which can be particularly handy for trying to get better rolls of powerful weapons.
Getting Skeleton Keys in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands
Skeleton Keys can only be obtained by redeeming SHiFT codes, often shared on the Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands Twitter account. The GearboxOfficial Twitter account, as well as Randy Pitchford’s — Gearbox Entertainment Company’s CEO — also share some SHiFT codes for Skeleton Keys, so it’s well worth giving these a follow, too!
While this is the only method of getting Skeleton Keys, there is currently a slight exploit that players can use to get multiple keys from a single SHiFT code.
Infinite Skeleton Keys Glitch Explained
As noted by YouTuber Pugly, players can redeem SHiFT codes multiple times by following a few steps. These do involve you taking your console offline and online at system level, though, so there is a bit of work involved, but it’s worth it.
- Redeem a SHiFT Code on your account you’ve signed into Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands with. DON’T collect the key from the in-game menu, though. Leave it in your ‘Mailbox’ section of the SHiFT menus.
- Go into the Xbox Network Settings and select ‘Go Offline.’ On PlayStation, go into the Network settings and uncheck the ‘Connect to the Internet’ box. PC players need to turn off their Wi-Fi from the option in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen, or unplug their Ethernet cable.
- Load up the game and, as long as you’re offline, you can then select the ‘Accept Item’ option on the Skeleton Key in your ‘Mailbox.’
- Quit out of the game and load it back up. You should now be able to redeem the Skeleton Key from your mailbox again.
- Rinse and repeat this method to get infinite Skeleton Keys from a single code.
Keep in mind that this is likely to get patched out by Gearbox Software very quickly, as it’s a bit game-breaking if you do it to get yourself hundreds of Skeleton Keys. Credit to Pugly once again for discovering the glitch.
That’s everything you need to know on how to get Skeleton Keys in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands.
