How to Use Items – Horizon Zero Dawn

Sometimes, Aloy will need a little more than just her weapons to take down the machines that roam Horizon Zero Dawn’s world. When a moment like this arises, you’ll likely want to use one of the items you’ve acquired on your journey to give you the edge in battle. Here’s how to use items.

Using items in Horizon Zero Dawn is actually incredibly easy. The d-pad is used to harbor all of your consumables. Up will allow you to use your medicine pouch, and right and left will cycle through the different items you can use. Then, once you’ve found the item you want to use, all you need to do is press down on the d-pad. After a short animation, Aloy should reap the rewards or be able to use items you’ve selected. There’s nothing more to it than that.

It’s worth noting that Horizon Zero Dawn won’t add resources and other non-consumables to this list that you can cycle through. If you want to use these for crafting, you’ll have to use the in-game menu by pressing the touchpad on your DualShock 4.
