How to Switch Characters in GTA V

Recommended Videos

Apart from a fully explorable world, GTA V also includes three different playable characters: Michael, Trevor, and Franklin. Players can switch between each person at any time when off-mission, while the other two characters will be off busy with their daily lives. It’s important to note that some missions will require you to bring more than one character along, so it’s important to learn how to switch through your characters in GTA V PC.

The process is actually really simple once you learn how to do it. So if you’re using the default controls for GTA V on PC, your left Alt button should be the key to switch your character. That’s basically all you need to know about switching characters in the game, but if that button doesn’t work out for you, there’s always remapping. If you go to the settings, you can tinker around with the controls and bind any actions to different keys. If the left Alt button isn’t working out for you, all you would need to do is just remap it to the K or L button instead in GTA V PC.

On a different note, it’s also worth pointing out that while all three characters might seem the same, they actually have their own unique skill sets in GTA V. One good example is during a heist mission, each person will be assigned in their own posts. Michael will be grappling down the building, Trevor will be in charge of the helicopter, and Franklin will provide cover with his sniper rifle. During the escape, players can then reorganize who will pilot the chopper and use the sniper rifle.

Take note of each person’s skill sets since you’ll be switching characters quite frequently in GTA V on PC. For more tips and tricks on the game, make sure you search for Twinfinite.
