How to Emote in GTA Online

GTA Online is all about interaction with other players, so naturally you’ll be able to emote to get your feelings across. In order to emote, you’ll need to click in both the left and right stick.

If you click them once your character will do the emote you have selected. If you hold the sticks in your character will continue to do it until you move your character or click them again.

There are plenty of emotes in GTA Online from cheering on your teammates to giving them the middle finger. Find one that works for your style and let it fly.

To switch out your emotes simply click the touchpad on PS4, the View button on Xbox One, or the M key on PC to open your interaction menu. From there go to the action section where you can swap through all of them.

You can still do them in first-person mode which further immerses you in whatever emote you’re doing. Be sure to have fun with it and let people know how you feel.

They can be done at any time, whether you’re in your house, someone else’s, during a mission, or even a heist.

If online gets boring there are plenty of mods to install for the single player to keep you busy for quite some time. Be sure to check those out for a real good time.

Here’s a quick recap of how to emote in GTA Online:

  1. Click in both of the sticks

Clicking in the sticks will allow you to emote.

  2. Hold the sticks

Holding the sticks will let you do it continuously.

  3. Click the sticks again

Clicking the sticks again will cancel out of the one you’re doing.
