There are going to be times during your various missions in Ghost Recon Breakpoint’s south pacific setting where you’ll want to take down enemies as quietly as possible. Then there’s the times where you need your weapon’s range and damage at tip-top condition to help you drop enemies with speed. Here’s how to equip and remove weapon silencers in Ghost Recon Breakpoint.
Equipping Weapon Silencers in Ghost Recon Breakpoint
If you want to equip or remove a suppressor, you’ll first need to aim down the sights of your weapon. This can be done by pressing L2 on PS4 or LT on Xbox One. After doing this, you should see a small d-pad appear to the right of your clip count in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen.
In each of the directions of the d-pad, you’ll see a different icon. The one we’re interested in here is left on the d-pad. It looks like a small cylindrical-looking object with some holes in it. That’s a suppressor for those of you unfamiliar.
By pressing left on the d-pad when you’re aiming down sights, your character will equip the silencer. This will make your shots considerably quieter, meaning you’re less likely to alert other nearby enemies when dropping an enemy.
This added stealthiness does come at a cost, though. You’ll be sacrificing some range on your weapons, as well as some damage.
As such, you’ll want to make sure you’re aiming for the head and getting up close to your target so you can drop them quickly before they call out for help and alert their pals.
Removing Silencers
Unsurprisingly, removing the silencer from your weapon is as simple as pressing L2 or LT to aim down sights again, and then pressing left on the d-pad.
You’ll then watch as your character unscrews the attachment from the end of their weapon. Once it’s done, your gun will be back to being loud and proud.
That’s everything you need to know about equipping and removing weapon silencers in Ghost Recon Breakpoint. For more tips, tricks, and guides, be sure to check out our ever-expanding guide wiki, search for Twinfinite, or check out more of our guides below.
