Ghost of Tsushima: How to Increase Resolve

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

Resolve is an incredibly valuable resource in Ghost of Tsushima that allows you to heal your health in battle, as well as perform a ‘Mythic’ combat art on your enemies. The problem is, you won’t be able to stock up a ton of Resolve at the beginning of the game, making it difficult to choose between healing and slicing through some enemies with ease in combat. There is a way to increase Resolve in Ghost of Tsushima, so you won’t have to worry as much about it in the latter stages of the game.

Getting More Resolve in Ghost of Tsushima

To get more Resolve in Ghost of Tsushima, you’ll need to complete Bamboo Cuts. This is essentially a mini-game that sees you striking through three, five and finally seven sticks of bamboo. Bamboo Cuts can be found across the world, and are one of the possible things of interest you can find at a ‘?’ on your map, so be sure to keep an eye out and explore whenever you have the chance.

To complete the Bamboo Cut mini-game, you’ll have to press the buttons that appear on-screen in the sequence shown. As you can imagine, it starts easy and gets significantly harder.

You’ll need to complete the Bamboo Cut mini-game three separate times in order to increase your Resolve by one in the first instance.

However, once you’ve increased your Resolve once, you’ll then need to complete the Bamboo Cut mini-game five times to increase your Resolve further, and then seven times and so on.

That’s one additional opportunity to heal your health or perform a critical hit in battle, and you can’t turn your nose up at that.

Now you’ll be stacked up on resolve in Ghost of Tsushima and ready to slice and dice your way through the Mongol forces. For more guides on the game, head on over to our Ghost of Tsushima guide wiki, or view more of our coverage below.
