This article is over 3 years old and may contain outdated information

Developer miHoYo’s latest action-RPG, Genshin Impact, has attracted a lot of attention for its Breath of the Wild-like aesthetic and slick combat system. It’s quite possibly one of the most impressive free-to-play games we’ve ever played, boasting a depth of content that stands shoulder to shoulder with many premium games. If you’re wanting to try it out for yourself, here’s what the download and install size is for Genshin Impact on PS4, PC, and mobile devices.

What Genshin Impact’s Download & Install Size Is

One of the most impressive aspects of Genshin Impact’s design is that it runs on both mobile as well as traditional platforms. And while you’d probably expect the install sizes to differ a bit, the extent to which that is the case is quite interesting. Here’s the HDD space you’ll need for each platform:

  • PS4 – 11.27 GB
  • PC – 13.99 GB
  • Mobile (Android, Galaxy Note 8) – 6.64 GB

As you can see, there’s quite a difference there, with PC, in particular, requiring quite a bit more free space to install. Perhaps it’s a case of textures and other files in the PC version supporting a higher resolution, or maybe mobile is just better optimized?

In any case, the install size is pretty tame across all three platforms for a game that’s this massive in scale.

It’s worth noting that, given Genshin Impact is a live-service game, you can probably expect its install size to grow as patches, updates, and expansions arrive.
