How to Build a Radar Tower in Fortnite
You’ll find yourself doing a lot more than just shooting at Husks in Fortnite. All of the different tasks you can accomplish in one particular zone are listed in the top right corner of your screen. Eventually you’ll find yourself on a mission where one of the included tasks is simply “Chest Radar.” While this isn’t required in order for you to successfully complete the mission, the task itself is easy enough if you can just figure out what the game is really trying to ask you to do.
So “Chest Radar” essentially means “build a radar tower.” First, however, you have to find the radar. Before you actually build these radar towers, they will appear within the game as white outlines of the structure that could be there with your help. It’s up to you to hunt it down and find it. Once you do, you just need to follow the instructions that have been given to you. In all fairness, these instructions aren’t very clearly given to you but they are there. Hiding within those white borders are instructions and you probably didn’t even know it.
As you go to place a piece of the structure like a wall to match up with the outline, you will see a small icon on each tile that tells you how that section should look. The icon will essentially look like a small grid that represents each of the wall pieces you have the option of editing. The wall tiles that are filled in are the ones you want to keep while the others are the ones you want to remove in the editing screen. You will follow this same process with floors, stairs, and every other piece of the tower as well.
The last thing to keep in mind is making sure that you’re also using the right building materials. This part is easy. Just make sure you’re building the tower using whatever icon is next to the “Chest Tower” task in the top right corner of your screen. This icon will be a wood, stone, or metal and will determine what material you should use to build what will eventually become a pretty cool radar tower.
