How to Use Shopping Carts in Fortnite Battle Royale

Recommended Videos

Shopping carts are the latest major content addition in Fortnite Battle Royale, offering a slicker way to get around when you’re playing in duos (or solos, if you just wanna coast down hills on your own in one). If you’re unsure of how to use the shopping carts in Fortnite, or what exactly they could be useful for, then keep on reading.

First things first, you’ll need to actually find a shopping cart. We’ve highlighted the locations we’ve found this new transport method in Fortnite hiding, in our guide here. When you’ve tracked one down, simply press X on Xbox One, Square on PS4, or E on PC to interact with the cart. Depending on where you’re standing, you’ll either be able to hop into the cart itself as a passenger, or be the driver if you stand behind it. If you’re driving, simply push the left analog stick in the direction you want to go, as if you were walking. You can give yourself a boost by tapping RT/ R2, or coast by holding the button down. And if you’ve pushed your shopping cart right the way to the top of the hill and want to cruise on down, press the right stick in (otherwise known as R3) and you’ll switch.

It’s also worth noting that passengers inside shopping carts can shoot while on-the-move. This means you can lay down some suppressing fire on other players as your teammate pushes the pair of you away to safety. Genius, right?

As more of the Fortnite community gets its hands on shopping carts, there’re sure to be plenty of insane ways that this new transport method will be put to use. For now, though, these are the basics you need to know.
