Fire Emblem Heroes has a ton of different items and systems that you’ll have to learn about along the way. One of those items are Hero Feathers, handy little things that you won’t be using until later in the game.

Once you have a character that reaches level 20 through experience in battle, you can use a Hero Feather to have them “reach their potential” from level 20 and on. This basically lets them power up even further once they reach the basic level cap. Do note that characters of a higher star level will require more Hero Feathers to power up. To use the items, you’ll need to go into the Allies tab from the main menu and then select “Advanced Growth” at the bottom.

Luckily, there are quite a few different ways to get Hero Feathers, so you’ll naturally start to build a few up along the way:

  • Story Maps – Each time you beat a story map you’ll get a reward, and there’s also a chance for you to receive a Hero Feather from the battle. It’s not guaranteed, so you may need to replay battles a few times.
  • Arena Duels – Defeating others player’s teams in the Arena Duels section of the menu yields a chance to drop feathers as well.
  • Special Events – Although there aren’t any at launch, Fire Emblem Heroes will be getting special battle events that yield certain prizes, among these can be Hero Feathers.
  • Talking To Characters In Your Castle – Although the chances of this are low, sometimes talking to some of characters standing around your castle can yield items, including feathers.

Now that you a know a few of the different ways to get Hero Feathers, you’ll be ready to make your best heroes even more powerful. For more help and tips on Fire Emblem Heroes, make sure to check out our ever-growing wiki.
