Fast Travel – Final Fantasy XV
You would think that with the various modes of transportation available in Final Fantasy XV that the developers would forgo fast travel. But the world is so large that you’d spend hours just getting around it, which can put a dampening on the fun at times. So it’s greatly appreciated that players can actually move around the world quickly, though it isn’t available right from the start.
As you explore the world, you’ll unlock different waypoints on your map that you can set your car, the Regalia, to drive to. If, however, you’ve been to that place before, you will then have the option to simply fast travel there for 10 Gil. So as long as you have your car and have been to a location, you can fast travel there for a very low price. That’s all there is to it. This allows players to explore the world and see the sights, but doesn’t force them to do it over and over again.
There are also three very specific fast travel options that don’t cost you anything. You can quickly travel to the entrance of a dungeon you’re in, warp to wherever you left your car, or head directly to the last place you rested at. These are useful for when you complete a mission, but may not be what you need all the time.
Yes, you’ll have to put in a lot of driving time and legwork first, but after that you’ll earn yourself the right to jump around, making cleaning up side quests after you’ve completed the main story of Final Fantasy XV much easier.
