Starting the ‘Unidentified Flying Object’ Quest in Final Fantasy XIV

Recommended Videos

‘Unidentified Flying Object’ is a new quest introduced in patch 3.5 of Final Fantasy XIV. Completing this quest will give you access to the Dun Scaith 24-man raid. To start the quest, you need to complete ‘Freedom For Our Skies’ before talking to Slipslix at Idyllshire. He’ll give you the quest then.

Simply complete the objectives and you’ll be able to access Dun Scaith through the Duty Finder. Do note that you need to be level 60, with an item level of at least 235 in order to attempt it. You can bring up your item level easily by buying Idyllshire gear. Alternatively, if you’ve already started progressing through the Stormblood MSQs, you can obtain much higher level gear simply by completing story quests, and buying new equipment from the vendors in the new areas. Along with new pieces of gear, clearing Dun Scaith also rewards you with Tomestones of Poetics, which can be exchanged at Mor Dhona and Idyllshire.

Either way, once you’ve managed to clear Dun Scaith, bring the Allagan weapon scrap back to Slipslix, and you’ll be able to complete the ‘Unidentified Flying Object’ quest.
