Just as was the case for the last few FIFA games, you can pick up the Ultimate or Champions editions of FIFA 21 to get three days early access to the game and some cool content for Ultimate Team. If you’ve done so, you will have free packs to open and possibly even a free Ones to Watch (OTW) player. So that you can incorporate them to your team, here’s how to get FIFA 21 Ultimate and Champions Edition free packs and your OTW player.
Redeeming FIFA 21 Ultimate Edition & Champions Edition Free Packs
Physical Editions
If you picked up a physical copy of FIFA 21’s Ultimate Edition or Champions Edition, you should receive a code either in the box or from the retailer that you can redeem on your platform of choice’s store.
On Xbox, you need to head to the ‘Home’ screen and then using RB to tab over to ‘Store.’ Choose ‘Use a Code’, enter the code you’ll have, confirm the purchase, and you should find the content in game.
For PS4 players, you’ll need to head to the PlayStation Store and find ‘Redeem Code’ at the bottom of the panel on the left. Again, enter the code, confirm the purchase, and head to the game.
Digital Editions
If you bought the FIFA 21 Ultimate or Champions Edition digitally, it’s much easier. All of your bonus content that comes with these editions will be automatically downloaded and installed alongside the full game. You’ll find it in-game as soon as you load up.
How Many Free Packs Does Every FIFA 21 Edition Include?
Each version of FIFA 21 comes with a different number of packs. The standard edition comes with three rare gold packs (one per week for three weeks).
The Champions Edition includes 12 rare gold packs (one a week for 12 weeks) and the Ultimate Edition of FIFA 21 includes 24 rare gold packs (two a week for 12 weeks).
What Time the Free Packs Are Released
To actually get them, simply log into Ultimate Team and you’ll find them. The one or two packs you’re entitled to will be released at the following times each week:
- Eastern Time – Sundays, 8:00 PM
- Pacific Time – Sundays, 5:00 PM
- GMT (UK Time) – Mondays, 1:00 AM
You’ll notice that it’s the same time as the Squad Battles rewards go live each week.
How to Get FIFA 21 Ultimate Edition OTW Player
First of all, to get the OTW player, you need to have ordered the special version of FIFA 21 by Aug. 14. Therefore, if you have only just bought the game, you won’t be able to get it, even if you buy the same version of the game.
If you did pre-order before this cut-off date, all you need to do is wait until Oct. 9, when the promo begins and the base game is out, and the OTW player should appear in your My Packs section in Ultimate Team.
