Fallout 76, once again, drops you into the heart of the apocalypse to scavenge and contend with horrendous mutated monsters. This time around, you’ll be traveling the bright hills and forests of West Virginia, as the inhabitants of Vault 76 first make their way out of the vault. As you make your way across the world you’ll come across plenty of items and weapons you’ll want to hang onto. This is where your stash box comes in handy. Here’s how to use your stash box and where to find it in Fallout 76.

The stash box is basically a container that pops up around the world of Fallout 76, letting you store additional items, armor, weapons, junk items, or whatever else you want. The container itself will say STASH on it, and its bright blue color makes it easier to spot.

In Fallout 76, the box currently has a weight limit of 400, although that could easily change in the future.

In order to use the stash box, all you need to do is simply walk up to it and press X on PS4 or A on Xbox One to open it, then select whatever you might want to move and store by pressing X (A) on each item to move it.

There are a number of locations you can find your stash, and it stays persistent with what you’ve put in no matter where you use it. Here’s a full list of everywhere we’ve found a stash box within the game.

  • Overseer’s Camp
  • Grafton Station
  • Morgantown Station
  • Sutton Station
  • All Red Rocket gas stations in the game
  • All train stations in the game
  • At your CAMP – You can craft a stash box at your own personal camp, but you will need the wood and steel to do so.

It’s a good idea to offload items every now and again in your stash box, as becoming over-encumbered can be a big nuisance, like in any other Bethesda game. Make good use of your stash, but also don’t forget to sell anything you might not need to make a quick profit.

That’s everything you need to know about how to use your stash box in Fallout 76. Make sure to take a look at our Fallout 76 wiki, for even more helpful tips and tricks. You can also ask any questions you might have in the comments below, and we’ll do our best to answer them.
