Piccolo’s Initiation Test in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2

Recommended Videos

Piccolo is one of the first mentors you can meet in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 and this fan favorite green guy is sure to be a big deal for anyone that loves brooding creepers. That’s right, I said it. Looking back, it’s creepy that he hung out with Gohan so much. Yeah, I’m just telling it like it is. Oh, what? Where was I?

Ah, yes. In order to start off your quest to become Piccolo Jr. you will first need to initiate this quest. It’s simple enough and just has you learning how to pull off Evil Explosion. Use the move Evil Explosion on Piccolo and you’ll be well on your way through his mentor quests.

Where can Piccolo first be found, though? He’ll be hanging out next to the time portal, you can’t miss him.

Once you complete this, you will receive the following:

  • 100 Zeni
  • Evil Explosion

The next lesson will be waiting for you, so be sure to speak to Piccolo again once you can trigger it. Keep in mind that if you’re not able to progress in the lessons, it means you need to progress in your advancement tests at the school (lower left-hand corner of the map).

Lesson 1: Super Explosive Wave in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2

Now, Piccolo has another move to teach you, padawan. This time around, you’re vying for Super Explosive Wave. Upon accepting this lesson, you will need to use the newfound move during your sparring match. Once again, make sure that you finish the match by beating the enemies with Super Explosive Wave and you will have completed lesson number one. Keep in mind that Super Explosive Wave uses Stamina, not Ki. So watch that blue bar, and go as nuts as you would like on your orange one.

Once you complete this lesson, you will receive the following rewards:

  • 200 Zeni
  • Super Explosive Wave

Congratulations! It’s time to move onto the second lesson for Piccolo’s really messed up mentorship program.

Lesson 3: Light Grenade in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2

It’s time to amp up the difficulty a bit. Piccolo has decided you’re going through his lessons too easily, and wants to make your life a bit harder. For this lesson, you’re going to need to beat Krillin, Yamcha, and Piccolo with your new move, Light Grenade. Keep in mind the timer during this match, as you will be on a limit and these opponents are no joke. They move fast, so be ready for that.

Once you defeat the two useless fighters and Piccolo, though, you’ll receive the following:

  • 300 Zeni
  • Light Grenade

Lesson 4: Special Beam Cannon in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2

For the final lesson, you will be granted the most iconic of Piccolo’s moves. The Raditz killer, the Goku killer, the Special Beam Cannon. This move deals some heavy damage when it lands, so as you can imagine, it’s a big prize for completing his mentorship. This fight will have you going up against Piccolo himself, and you’ll need to of course use the move to defeat him. Keep in mind that it’s a tougher battle than before, and you’ll need to have the intermediate level unlocked in order to challenge him.

Once you do and defeat him, though, you’ll get these rewards:

  • 400 Zeni
  • Special Beam Cannon

Congratulations! You’ve completed the green man’s mentor program! You’re well on your way to getting taught by all of Earth’s best fighters. For more help with Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, be sure to check out our wiki for guides and tips!
