How to Switch or Change Characters in Dragon Ball FighterZ

Recommended Videos

If you’ve ever wanted to group together a bunch of your favorite Dragon Ball Z characters and see if they can defeat anything else the world can throw at them, Dragon Ball FighterZ is the game for you. With 3 vs. 3 battles, many Dragon Ball fans will already be trying to figure out who their main three fighters will be. These fighters aren’t all on the screen at the same time, like they are in the upcoming Dissidia Final Fantasy NT. Instead, you’ll need to switch characters in and out to save their health from being completely wiped out.

To switch and change characters in Dragon Ball FighterZ, all you need to do is hold down either L1 or L2 (LB or LT on Xbox One). Holding down L1/ LB will tag in the character immediately below your current fighter’s health bar and information in the top corner. L2/ LT will make you switch characters with the one underneath them.

Remember you’ll need to hold these buttons when wanting to switch fighters in and out of battle. If you just tap them, this will cause that corresponding character to perform an assist attack. This will see them briefly appear onscreen to help deal some damage to your opponent before disappearing again.

That’s all you need to know to switch or change characters in Dragon Ball FighterZ. For more on the game, be sure to check out our ever-expanding wiki.
