Does the Nintendo Switch Have Achievements or Trophies?

Achievements/ Trophies – Nintendo Switch

Recommended Videos

With the Nintendo Switch officially out in the wild, some players may be wondering if the system has any achievements or trophies like the Xbox One and PS4 have respectively. While they don’t necessarily get you anything, many players enjoy unlocking these and admiring their collections as they go. Of course, no Nintendo system has had achievements or trophies before, but with the Switch ushering in a new era for the company, players will be hoping this will be the start of something beautiful.

Unfortunately, Nintendo’s latest system doesn’t have any achievements or trophies for you to collect as you make your way through Snipperclips, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, or any of the other launch games.

While the Nintendo Switch doesn’t have any sort of achievements system at launch, that doesn’t mean that the feature cannot be added in through an update later on. After all, Sony did this exact same thing with the PS3 and trophies back in 2008. For now, though, you’ll just have to wait and see what Nintendo has in store for the system further down the road.
