Destiny 2’s Bungie 30th Anniversary Event has brought with it a heaping of new weapons and armor. Xur is going out of his way to hook it up for anyone that’s willing to get their hands dirty with the new events. In this guide, we’ll go over how to get Matador 64 in Destiny 2, a fan-favorite shotgun that is sure to give Destiny PvP veterans a touch of PTSD.
How to Get Matador 64 in Destiny 2
In addition to adding a bunch of Halo-inspired weaponry to Xur’s Treasure Horde to celebrate Bungie’s 30th anniversary, a handful of weapons from the first Destiny are being added to Destiny 2. Matador 64, as alluded to above, is a returning shotgun from the first Destiny that was renowned for its popularity and dominance in PvP. We can always use more overpowered shotguns in Destiny 2 PvP, am I right everyone?!
You won’t be able to grind out Dares of Eternity for Treasure Keys to get this weapon, though. No, in order to get Matador 64 you’ll have to purchase the Bungie 30th Anniversary DLC, grab two buddies, and brave the new dungeon, Grasp of Avarice.
We don’t want to get into any spoilers about the new dungeon, but the long and short of it is that Matador 64 is a possible drop from the encounters in Grasp of Avarice. At the time of this writing, the loot is a bit screwy and Bungie will be fixing it soon. So we want to wait until the update goes live before confirming exactly which encounter it drops from, but yes, we can confirm that Matador 64 comes from Grasp of Avarice.
That’s all you need to know for how to get Matador 64 in Destiny 2’s 30th Anniversary event. For more on Destiny 2, check out all of our latest content about the 30th Anniversary event right here.
